CJ RAMONE AND DAMONE RAMONE

It’s pretty great to see Ramones member CJ Ramone holding a Guinness. That he’s additionally holding his copy of Damone Ramone isn’t bad, either.

CJ Ramone was the Ramones bassist from 1989 until they disbanded in 1996. When the Ramones were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Tommy Ramone thanked CJ, “…for keeping the band young.” That almost borders on understatement: CJ was rocket fuel, creating some of the most ferocious, hard hitting punk songs ever written that still retained the essential Ramones vibe. Fender has a wonderful video where CJ breaks down the thundering power of his tune Got a Lot to Say. CJ also tells the great story of how he became a Ramone. Check him out tearing down the house in Sao Paulo with Got a Lot to Say or ripping through the funky punk killer Strength to Endure. Both songs are spot on truths regarding the legendary CJ Ramone.
